Researchers have discovered that inactivation of an enzyme, alkylglycerone phosphate synthase, or AGPS, known to be critical to the formation of ether lipids which are particularly elevated in highly malignant tumors, reduces the aggressiveness of the cancer cells. This offers a promising new target for new cancer therapies.
